GCCC x GN Customer Bat Builder – T&Cs
These terms and conditions govern the purchase and use of custom cricket bats ordered through the Gray-Nicolls Custom Bat Builder and sold by the Greg Chappell Cricket Centre.
1. Custom Bat Orders and Production
Order Acceptance: All custom bat orders are subject to availability of willow grade and are only considered accepted once full payment has been processed and the final order confirmed.
Customisation Judgement: For custom selections outside of standard options (e.g., specific bat profile elements like scalloping or spine height), Gray-Nicolls' master craftsmen will use their expert judgement to select the specifications that best compliment your other choices.
Production Time: The standard production time for a custom-made bat is typically up to 6 weeks from the date payment is received. This is an estimate and may be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances or high demand.
2. Pricing and Payment
Willow Grading: The price of the custom bat is dictated by the grade of willow selected (e.g., Premium Grade Willow, Players Grade Willow).
Price is Final: The cost is as displayed at the time of purchase.
3. Returns Policy
Change of Mind Returns
Final Sale: Due to the custom, personalised nature of the product, Change of Mind returns, exchanges, or refunds are not accepted once the custom bat has been made.
Pre-Production Cancellation: You must contact GCCC immediately if you wish to cancel an order. Cancellation will only be possible if production of the bat has not yet commenced.
4. Warranty (12 Months)
All cricket bats sold by GCCC, including Custom Bats, carry a 12-month warranty against damage deemed to be a manufacturing fault and no fault of the consumer, commencing from the date of purchase.
Warranty claims will be assessed by GCCC and the manufacturer in adherence to Australian Consumer Law.
The standard warranty covers issues such as a broken handle, split cleft, or large shoulder cracks caused by a manufacturing defect.
Exclusions from Warranty
The warranty does not cover damage resulting from, but not limited to:
* Inadequate Preparation: Damage that occurs due to a lack of, or improper, knocking-in/playing-in.
* Yorker Damage: Damage to the toe of the bat from miss-hit yorkers.
* Machine Preparation: Damage resulting from bats being machine-prepared (GCCC generally does not recommend machine knocking-in).
* Poor Maintenance: Damage due to lack of a toe guard, over-oiling, or under-oiling.
* Moisture or Heat: Damage due to exposure to wet weather, excessive moisture, or excessive heat (e.g., leaving the bat in a car boot or direct sunlight).
* Improper Use: Damage from non-leather or composite balls (including some bowling machine balls), or hitting objects other than a standard cricket ball (e.g., stumps, ground).
* Natural Cracking: A small amount of cracking is normal for willow and has no impact on the performance of the bat. Cracking is not automatically considered a sign of a faulty bat and often indicates the bat requires further knocking-in.
5. Bat Preparation (Before Use)
Essential Requirement: When you receive your custom bat, you must properly prepare it before use.
Warranty Condition: Warranties and returns will be unable to be applied if the proper preparation of the bat has not been undertaken.
Recommendation: The Greg Chappell Cricket Centre strongly recommends our Knocking in Services to prepare your new bat. You can find out more about those here - Knocking In Services – Greg Chappell Cricket Centre
6. Claims Process
First Contact: In the event of an issue, the purchaser must contact the Greg Chappell Cricket Centre Customer Service team first before returning the item to discuss the issue and obtain the correct procedure.
Assessment: Each claim is assessed on a case-by-case basis. GCCC requires seeing the bat to arrange the correct course of action, which may include repair or replacement in accordance with the warranty and Australian Consumer Law.
