HOW TO SIZE A BAT

  1. Stand the bat beside them — the handle top should reach between thigh and hip.
  2. Hold it straight out in the top hand alone for five seconds. If the end dips, go lighter.
  3. Kashmir willow for a first hard-ball season. Fine at this level, a third of the price of English willow.
